Leadership training packet
This is a sample of a packet that was used as part of a 2 day training course for student leaders in marching band. It walks students through a series of exercises for goal-setting, music skill development and leadership skills.
Stereotype roles
When developing student leaders, role playing typical scenarios, such as sectionals, one-on-one mentoring, and rehearsal assisting are invaluable. Assigning each leader the role of a stereotyped student in the group helps develop the skills the students will need for being functional leaders.
